According to the rumor our Lancaster MkIII has then engines of a Lancaster MkI.

The Lancaster MkI was powered by 4 1,280hp Merlin XXs, or 4 1,460hp Merlin 22s, or 4 1,640hp Merlin 24s.

The Lancaster MkIII was powered by 4 1,480hp or 4 1,640hp Packard Merlin 28s, 38s, or 224s.

To get confirmation Pyro or HiTech would have to inform us what engines the Lancaster in AH has.

Westy,

I don't understand.

I posted the rumor that BenDover is talking about (I have no idea whatsoever if it is true or not), posted the relevant data and the easiest way to find out if there is any truth to it.

I don't know about you, but I haven't got any sources rich in Lancaster performance figures to test against.

IMHO, what the Lancaster and B-17G really need in AH is longer runways, but that is a different thread.

Yup, it's climbrate is WAY undermodeled. And at cruise power settings it literally falls out of the sky.  :(

Karnak, if you want Lancaster data try and find a book called: "Boscome Down, a most secret place" - it has performance, handling etc. data on the Lancaster from trials conducted during the war, even stuff on the Grand Slam specials.  :)
