IMHO, the solution to the 1C/nik problem. Is to put the 20mm back the way they were. That's right, stronger guns not weaker FM,s. If you stop and think offensively for a second. You might realize the only thing these planes have in common is 4 20mm.

There was a time when all you had to do is out fly them. Back before the 20,s were dum.... reduced, I killed many a 1C, with a snap shot, from a 20mm armed 109. And got my nik wasted, by a fast turning spit, the same way. Put the 20,s back to 3 hit sprites, and he,s dead. And the playing field becomes level again

Which weak FM?. In the "poll" Thread you voted "no"...so I guess that you said that F4Us felt right

This is a simulation, not a game. As soon as you start tweaking individual flight models for the reasons of playbalance, it becomes pointless to even attempt historically accurate flight models. If the C's flight model is wrong, you're free to prove it. But porking it deliberately is ridiculous.

Sheesh, I just hope that they make the FMs and gunnery as realistic as possible.  And I hope they don't change anything unless they are presented with compelling data.

Duma,

I beg to differ with you here. This is not a sim until and unless you are using a scenario with set rules for targets, planes to be used and geography. As it is now, the MA is a sea of Nik1's Chogs and some Spits with space shuttle buffs and laser accuracy  bombings with a smattering of other planes. Everyone wants to fly the "uber" planes.

Tactics other than individual 1v1 and the ever popular search for the ultimate alt advantage are not used. There is nothing even close to a strategy by any team. This is a setup for "gaming the game" as it exists now. That is what the MA IS now. Between using HO's in 4 canon armed planes as a main tactic, "stick stirring" and other "tricks" to fool other players by spoiling the shot there is no real simulation going on. It is just a big FFA based on country identification only.

Well.. about Hispano and its cousin M2, I think those are waaay up powered guns.
1 .. just 1.. hit can take off wings from the fighters. maybe 2 at most, somehwer on the wing..

1 hit in the stabs = dead plane too.

With other cannons you'll rarely see this happen..  (so.. what was that HS round again.. 30mm HE?)

Its annoying that when -1C pilot realizes that he cant catch me in my g10, he starts spraying few cannonlazers on my direction even if hes > 1k. Now when youre climbing its hard to evade those spray/pray bullets. And when you hear ping, you can consider yourself lucky if nothing breaks down.
f4u 20mm bullets fly straight with no gravity or G forces affecting till ~800d..

Thats ridiculous. When you add those lazers to unreal 180 degree vertical superUFOturns that they do if they miss their beloved HO (N1K is also cabable doing those), you often run it silly situations. Thank god that 1C pilots are often below average skills (like me), so i sometimes actually gain their 6 after many mistakes which he made.
