What's your budget and what type of power supply are you using (brand, model, watts, amps on 12V rail(s)... as much of this as possible)?  It would be irresponsible to start recommending cards without this information.

That processor may not drive a ATI 48xx series card to its potential , 38xx may be a better choice, lot cheaper too.

how can you just make that statement without at least more Power Supply Info?  Do you think before you type?  You should really re-evaluate your thinkign process before you hit Reply next time.

umm i was giving the best suggestion for card with HDMI out .. it pretty obvious he would need a Power supply to support it if he decided to go that route.  unless you think hes stupid not to consider that would need to power supply to support that card.  maybe you should think before you type and give people credit that they have a brain and would know they need a power supply that would support it.

I think you do need to think about what you type.   Read that rat's nest of a post I quoted.   If you DO have a brain, use it, instead of sliding by.

Many of the people who visit this forum have no clue about computers, how they work or what components work together.  That's part of the reason they come here for advice.  I'm not saying that's true of the OP but I, nor anyone else here, can or should make the assumption that they know what they are doing.

If he plugs in the wrong video card without the PSU to support it he could burn up the PSU, the video card or the motherboard.  I'm not willing to put him at that risk.  Obviously you are.

on all boxes it pretty much tells you what power supply requirements you need to run the card you get. if you cant read the box and research the card your gonna get, then you deserve to have your stuff burned up.  all i did was recommend a card to fit his situatuion, the rest was up to him, i didnt say for him to go get a 4850 and throw it in his system and see what happens. i suggested a card, that is it. stop your crying just to hear yourself squeak cause its me.
