Solving all the Arena Problems
« on: April 14, 2009, 09:07:11 PM »
It seems to me that with all these individual requests for the wishlist.  These requests seem to generate alot of arguements.  The arguements seem to truly get nowhere.  I propose a way to solve all the problems with one overall change in Arena policy.

HiTech changes the software on thier end.  The change is simple.  There is no countries anymore along with no scoring and therfore no side balancing.

All players will be truly on thier own.  All other players would show up as a red icon.  If you want some protection then joining a squad would enable you to have greeen icons on your screen.  Then it would be soley the squad against the world.

The arena setup would be that on the map for the bases would be both ground and air spawn points.  You click a direction and 'poof' your at 20,000 ft and in the battle.  "Vulching" becomes a thing of the past.  Truly be a brawl arena with no "war to win" mentality.

Of course this won't happen, but this seems the only way to solve all the disagreements in the game among the players. :salute

To be honest with you I think HTC would lose about 80% of their costumers if that happens.

Even with my new 'enlightened' attitude towards different styles of gameplay, your idea has to be the worst to grace the wishlist.

I'd rather read another 6,000 requests for the B29, 109G10, and 20mm A36/P51/late MK Spit all written in 'l33t' speak than see this idea even considered.

Geee since everyone is an enemy why not remove icons while your at it?

After 2 months (when the new has worn off) how many people do you really think would fly in such an arena?

+1.

Better to stick with the slow drip of long-time players they are losing now...

Approximately 30 seconds after this idea went live you'd see complaints on the board of people upping wirbels from the VH, driving the 50 yards over to the end of the runway, and nailing people trying to take off for the nearest furball.

And then the wirbel people would complain because someone upped a Tiger right after them.

And then the Tiger drivers would complain because the "friendly" manned ack tears them a new one.

Oh yeah, and everyone would complain that all the auto-ack eats them alive every time they try to get off the ground.  Just flying a sortie at all would take about 15 minutes' preparation, as you'd have to up vehicles and drive around de-acking your own field, dodging all the formerly-friendly other GVs trying to take advantage of you.

I predict even the base supply convoys would swerve out of their pre-appointed paths just to run you over.  Yes, you.  Just because.
