You mean they aren't?

Ok, let's see if we can educate someone today...

If you think the UN is an independent political entity, can you tell me who is its leader or leaders? Who makes the decisions?

You mean they aren't? Anyone that allows Iran, North Korea, and (in the past) Iraq to do whatever they want in violation of international treaties in exchange for money is definitely a political organization.

Both condemn and pass a resolution against the pirating being done, like anything else the UN has passed it won't have any teeth, but it may encourage at least a couple countries to start cooperating again.

Makes sense as not all EU members are NATO members.

We are also sending a frigate down there in august under the same EU flag but we are not members of EU but we are members of NATO. Doesnt matter though. Job is the same and so are command and control systems.

Im very angry though, because the Swiss navy sais they "cant" contribute

 ;)

What about the Austrian navy then, eh?! They are in the EU!!!!
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

No, I don't think so.

Perhaps you shouldn't be talking about brains when you clearly don't know the first thing about it. Saying the UN should do something about the pirates in Somalia is as stupid and as uninformed as saying the White House staff should do something about the pirates in Somalia.

Now they're taking out motherships.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/piracy/5161447/French-navy-intercepts-Somali-pirate-mother-ship.html

WTG France.  Where the **** is the Royal Navy in all this?  Oh yeah, I forgot, Brown has left us with a motor driven bathtub and a few subs which like running into things.

So France decided to follow in India's footsteps and engage the pirate mother ships.

This is from November of 2008.

Quote
Even as the Saudi super tanker Sirius Star continues to be in the grip of Somali pirates, Indian Navy Frigate INS Tabar destroyed a mother ship of the Somali pirates after a four to five hour battle on Tuesday (18 November, 2008) night around 7.30 pm as per Nirad Kumar Sinha, a spokesperson for the Indian Navy who added, “It was the first such incident in which the Indian Navy sank the pirates mother ship.”

In an apparent lead taken by the Indian Navy in the fight against rampaging Somali pirates, the Indian destroyer opened fire after repeated calls to surrender was greeted by threat of blowing up the navy ship by the pirates, who were found to be moving with guns and rocket propelled grenade launchers on the deck of their mother ship.

In the retaliatory fire in self-defense by INS Tabar, the mother ship of the pirates caught fire and explosions were heard possibly due to the ammunition stored on board the pirate ship. The other two accompanying speedboats of the pirates sped away after their main vessel was blown up in the Navy action. The Navy chased the two speed-boats and caught one which was found abandoned and the other boat sped away under cover of darkness. The encounter took place 285 nautical miles (525km) south of Salalah Port in Oman at the entrance of Gulf of Aden.

stroker, she is German not French. If she was French, she would be holding a shirt that said Peugeot or Citroen.

Geez even getting picked apart for that....shut up and enjoy the pic.  All I did was type "french babe" in yahoo search and that was one of the nicer looking acceptable pics.
