New or revamped medium or heavy bomber
« on: April 17, 2009, 05:09:49 PM »
Some of us bomber guys were wondering if we could get a new medium to heavy bomber maby something in the range of the B24's proceder (B29 please!!!!) as the current bombers either require you to climb to un-real hights, fend off swarms of enemies with inadequte weaponry, or are barley able to destroy a hanger. So we would like either a bomber with a larger bomb load to make the deaths worth while or for you to up grade the defensive aromrment of the Lancaster. :salute

*Cough* before you say anything about this, you should do some research on your bombers first. Lancasters have poor defensive armament, just like it did in the real war. Also, because AH2 enables the "formation" feature in the game, HTC spread out the ord in the bomb bay (for all formation bombers) so that no single bomber has a crap ton of bombs capable of wiping out an airfield. For that matter, if you had full realistic bomb load and "formations" enabled, you would likely be wiping out an airfield base twice in a row. This is not fair game in the world of AH2.

I just love the comedy noob gold in these forums! So many with new, yet useless, repeated, and highly hilarious threads. If you had searched you would of found a dozen straight pages of B-29 threads.

"un-real hights" I feel like I'm fighting or fending off a midget with a grudge in his butt. Excuse the language, or tone, which ever may be more or less offensive.

By unreal heights, what do you exactly mean? most bombers go to 20k and up, that's not "un-real hights". Going 42k in a B-17, that's unreal; unless i made a mistake on the service ceiling...

"inadequte" weaponry? Are you asking we mount 42mm cannons on the gunner positions in heavy bombers, or just simply make 50. cal's more effective than they should be? If this thread was about you getting gunned by a 50. cal from a victorious bomber then stop.

Geez, another B29 wish already?  Well the problem with B29 is that, well, it could be able to level an entire field on just one run.  That would take a lot of fun out of bombing and give new meaning to the word "porker" if we got one.

Also, "as the current bombers either require you to climb to un-real hights, fend off swarms of enemies with inadeuete weaponry", ok dude, have you actually EVER flown a B17 or B24 in this game?  Because if so, you wouldn't have really said that.

A set of lancs can wipe out an entire small air field. :)

I can take a set of lancs and shut down a Medium field myself.  You may need to go to the TA for bombing lessons if you have trouble taking down a hanger.

What we need is some kind of penalty for those who bail from perfectly good bombers after they drop their ord.

This Lamebrain type of play allows each bomber pilot to drop 2x the ord a single one could do, and I'm getting tired of seeing it happen. All a new bomber will do is give them something new to jump out of, saving the trouble of flying and fighting their way back.

A 1 hour penalty from flying a new set of bombers will do nicely. Last night I saw a Bish take out our CV with Lancs and then bail from them. Boy is that Lame. Take out a CV, ruin a good fight, and then dont even try and land the things.

first of all unreal hights means 25-30 k, second if you guys can make it and not get shot down, then I have quite a few stalkers flying perk aircraft, thirdly, inadequte armorment means the lank has only 2  .50's on it, the B17, B24 don't carry enough tail gunner ammo, I commonly run down arround 100 rounds for the tail and 200 for the top. and about the bomb load, I get shot down on my first pass or just after, so I only get one chance and the lighter bomber don't carry enough bombs to make getting killed almost every sortie. And by the way I am not new, I have been playing for around 3 yrs now and something that supports my stalker theroy is that this started happening in the last 2 monts or so.
