4-22-09 Wednesday Night Mission
« on: April 17, 2009, 07:45:18 PM »
As always Ill be leading the Bombers over the Rhine. Iv given the escorts their choice of the P38, P47, or P51s. Iv also given the attackers their choice of planes. Since the perk planes are enabled at A5 I ask that the Axis keep them in low numbers to make it fun for everyone. Takeoff is 8PM CST, Wednesday April 22, 2009. Please show up at least thirty minutes before launch so we can get numbers sorted out.

Will need COs for the escorts and attackers if anyone wants to volunteer.

How many Ta152s will be flying? Is there a limit to how many will be available?

Judging from past missions most of the axis will be in 109K4s and 190D9s. I'm gonna see if VWE wants to be axis CO. He's done a good job in the past keeping the the "uber" plane's numbers low. I cant tell you an exact number until we see how many people show up on the night, but I'm hoping to have no more then four Me262s, so maybe less then eight for the Ta152s would be good.

Looks great  :aok  I will be there early with the usual target on the back of my P47.  Please log in early so I can get some parachute training.

Okay, two things Larry you can clarify if I am not correct.

1)  Air starts at 72 will shorten the time to target.  On air start retract gear immediately and do not hit auto climb.  Give it a few seconds and the plane should start to level off.

2)  Bomber calibration is more complex.  So, either come early and practice or recommended you wing with a lead pilot who is confidently accurate and drop on his cue.  Calibration:  Shift left click on the map, the target that you will drop on (to set altitude), move the bombardier view forward and zoom all the way in, use the joystick to keep the crosshairs pinned to one spot while pressing and holding down the Y key.  Notice the calibrated speed if not within @ 2 mph adjust your throttle or recalibrate.

Now, be there or be  :noid

Bombers wont be using the air starts. It would save maybe 15misn but to much can go wrong and we could end up with people missing drones. I flew it the other day and is took just under an hour to get to the target, but I was testing fuel and flew the long way. I can make it so we can get into enemy skys in maybe 30mins and to the target around 40-45mins.
