You mean the US Government...... all of them. Don't foget the new ones voted in that are keeping them there. Now we get to the part of what information did you have regarding iraq and what have you done to inform the government.

*Pours anti-fire chemical* There we go, fires out.

Rich46yo, I'm not into politics, nor shall i ever be; and when I've gone through college, sure as hell I'll join the USMC.

Just wanted you guys not to forget these guys, no one's posted a thread about them in a while. Might as well bring it back, let them know we haven't forgotten. Just trying to be nice.

Spot on...there is no "anti-war" political party in the U.S. UNTIL the war becomes unpopular.

The myth that there is one "anti-war" or "anti-corporate" party on one side and a "small government" party on the other, that is what hurts us. In truth, there is only the single "do whatever it takes to get elected, then do whatever you want" political class.

FYB we NEVER forget, EVER. Alot of ppl here are vets, have family in the service or are currently in the service.
The reason you dont see many threads anymore regarding Iraq and Afghanistan is that currently there are rules banning political discussion since it ALWAYS degrades into a flamewar. And since discussion of those 2 topics will inevitably invoke a political discussion which will in turn break the rules which in turn will get people hit with the ban stick....it aint brought up to much ....least not HERE however alot of folks cruise over to our lil bastige stepchild forum where we can have these lil discussions.
Go here if you really want to talk about such topics : http://www.flamewarriors.net
Crap now I gotta redo my cool sig.....crap!!! I cant remeber how to do it all !!!!!

Rich46yo, I'm not into politics, nor shall i ever be;

A hypocritical statement if I have ever seen one.  You make a blatantly political statement, then state you are not about politics.    :rolleyes:

Wow, Hypocritical is right!!!
He blathers some political BS, then claims, "I'm not about politics"...

Grow up kid.. Join the Corps!!!
Maybe you'll learn about a few new character virtues..

Like making your oath before god and your peers,
and keeping it, FOR LIFE!!!

NEVER breaking faith with your god, or your countrymen,
or MARINES young and old...
And especially MARINES STILL FIGHTING IN THE FIELD!!!

When you finish Boot, you might finally understand what
your obligations are, as a man, as an american, and as
a US MARINE!!!

Unless you are one of those John Murtha types.. Who
forgot his lifelong obligation, and his oath,
as soon as it was politically convenient... LOWLIFE!!!

I speak a ton of BS.

RC
I'm not into politics. Besides, I'm not doing anything wrong, just reminding, no need for your 5 year old speech about how much crap you can say and how its political.

Just wanting people to remember, and if you don't like it, and are too serious, then get the hell away from this thread; no need for your P.O.S.

Rudyard Kipling summed it up fairly neatly in 1899, with this thoughts on the American conquest in the Philippines:

Take up the White Man's burden--
Send forth the best ye breed--
Go bind your sons to exile
To serve your captives' need;
To wait in heavy harness,
On fluttered folk and wild--
Your new-caught, sullen peoples,
Half-devil and half-child.

Take up the White Man's burden--
In patience to abide,
To veil the threat of terror
And check the show of pride;
By open speech and simple,
An hundred times made plain
To seek another's profit,
And work another's gain.

Take up the White Man's burden--
The savage wars of peace--
Fill full the mouth of Famine
And bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest
The end for others sought,
Watch sloth and heathen Folly
Bring all your hopes to nought.

Take up the White Man's burden--
No tawdry rule of kings,
But toil of serf and sweeper--
The tale of common things.
The ports ye shall not enter,
The roads ye shall not tread,
Go mark them with your living,
And mark them with your dead.

Take up the White Man's burden--
And reap his old reward:
The blame of those ye better,
The hate of those ye guard--
The cry of hosts ye humour
(Ah, slowly!) toward the light:--
"Why brought he us from bondage,
Our loved Egyptian night?"

Take up the White Man's burden--
Ye dare not stoop to less--
Nor call too loud on Freedom
To cloke your weariness;
By all ye cry or whisper,
By all ye leave or do,
The silent, sullen peoples
Shall weigh your gods and you.

Take up the White Man's burden--
Have done with childish days--
The lightly proferred laurel,
The easy, ungrudged praise.
Comes now, to search your manhood
Through all the thankless years
Cold, edged with dear-bought wisdom,
The judgment of your peers!

And yet the "nation-building" goes on and on. I predict we'll be at nation-building in Somalia soon enough, and possibly Iran.

Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty
