AH Seafire 3D Model and Skin Issues
« on: November 04, 2001, 01:11:00 PM »
On the help pages it says "Seafire IIC".  Seafire IIC used the c wing with two cannon bays and the outer bay capped off.  But if you look at the 3D model it's got a B wing with one cannon bay.  This makes it a Seafire IB.

Also the serial is W3238, which is the serial for Spitfire Vb PR-B, the London Butcher, which is the Spitfire Vb in the AH planeset!

Additionally it should be able to carry a 30 gallon drop tank on the centerline.

And like all the CV planes it is missing the arrester gear.

For a complete list of Seafire serials, details on the drop tank installation, and details on the arrester gear installation.  Please check "Spitfire:  The History" by Eric B. Morgan and Edward Shacklady, ISBN 0-946219-48-6.

This book also has information that would help fix the armament issues on the Spitfire Mk. IX.

Yes, Funked, you are.  :D

Since we have put this ridiculous spitfire complaint in its right place lets get onto the "real" 3D model problem we have in AH.

That deals with the Bf109G6.  :)

Our Bf109G6 is a Bf109G10 fuselage with the circular MG bulges added on top of the new streamlined MG fairings. It should be a Bf109G2 front fuselage with the bulges.

Plus Im sure we all hope Nate has some time this round to fix the tiny 109 oil coolers.

You see thats the "real" 3D model issue in AH, not some insignificant thing on some ungainly spit (one of the ugliest planes ever to fly BTW)....  ;)

Yes, this error with the Spit is unacceptable.    :)  There are also problems with the P-47s:

The P-47D-25 has the serial number of a P-47D-27.  Brazilian Air Force records list an aircraft "D4" being a P-47D-27.  No D4 was a D-25.  And of course, the -11 should have panels covering the area behind the pilot armor.

They should keep the Brazilean jug as a P-47D-27 and give us a Gabby camo -25.  :D
