Not to be argumentative skuzzy, but i never had any noticeable issues with my wireless lan when i was using for AH. I did not get any stutters until the last game update. I am wired directly to the router now and did it as an attempt to reduce the stutters i have but there was no improvement at all.

I have actually noticed no changes between the wired and wireless connection in my home.

I am not sure at this time what model router and PCI card I am using but when i get home rom work tomorrow i can look.

The moral of Skuzzy's story is correct, you will NEVER have a "100% connection" with Wireless.

with wired or wireless its all about what your ISP too. i've been on a wired connection before and get booted from AH every 5-10 minutes. been on wireless and never got booted. been on cellular and be hit and miss.

bottom line is no connection is 100% and can have connection problems with any connection. sometimes you get lucky and have no issues. sometimes you have all the issues.

while it may never be 100% it may be close enough that the issues are not noticeable.

You do have issues. You just may not attribute them to the wireless connection.  It is impossible not to have some issues, such as the occasional garbled voice, or a slight pause or stutter in the game.

Thereis not such thing as a 100% error free wireless connection.  It cannot happen.  It will never happen.

Which is exactly what Skuzzy said.    :huh

Looks to me like he said that there are issues that i am blaming on something else when I saw no noticeable issues to blame on anything until the latest update. In other words sounds like the issues were detectable and i was attributing them to something else. In reality i saw no issues. My net status was flat line, i saw no stutters, i had no garbled vox, no warping, and framerates that i have never seen since.

This is the way I took his post.

Have you tried the usual Ping-Plot to determine if this is a connection issue?

The simple facts are wireless is a half duplex connection (it cannot send and receive simultaneously), it is prone to interference that wired is not prone too, and it does odd things such as renegotiate speeds mid-connection.

You may also take a CPU hit if you're using WPA2 encryption (which you should be using as all other wireless security except ipsec is a waste of effort).

Wireless will never beat wired as a connection. Wireless is a great backup medium to wired, but I wouldn't game over it.
