New players making missions
« on: April 21, 2009, 11:18:44 AM »
I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that more and more of the players that I haven't seen before trying to make missions. I have no problems with them making missions, but come on guy's show a little common cents. You don't need 100% fuel in lanc's or pony's to go 2 bases away, you don't need every ride in the plane set, and please if your going to make a mission into a heavily defended base there is no need to go NOE there already waiting, PICK ANOTHER BASE. Now that we have that out of the way I know you guys want to get involved so here is a little advise.

There or only a few players on each side that make missions that everyone will join, nothing against you it's just that these guys make good missions, so join there missions and learn what there doing to make a good mission. I posted this for one guy, because before I could catch him he logged last night, I think his call sign was b415, he tried to get a mission together in one arena and when no one joined, he switched arena's, which I had done to fly with friends, and there he was trying to get a mission together in there. And when no one joined he logged off, I was trying to land so I could explain to him why no one was joining but he was gone, so if you see this it's nothing against you.

Agreed with you 100%. But it's majority a popularity contest when you're making a mission. What I've learned for new mission runners is to maximize your mission planning, goal, and limit the slots. Meaning if you're a new mission runner do a small mission a couple times and adjust accordingly. After you've been running some good small missions then you can gradually start increasing the size.

Note: Always strive to keep the mission historical, nothing is more worst then seeing a NOE mission with German 110s, American P51s, and British Lancs.

Commendable but a waist of breath.  That guy was a kid.  It tuck me several attempt to explain to him JUST yesterday, between orange and green text.  That kid was so new you could still smell the paint.

Another thing....they don't read the "web page help" let alone these boards....sorry.

Keep pissing on the new guys.    You'll be showing them "elitism" sooner!    At least they are trying to have fun.   But wait, that isn't allowed anymore.

As MjTalon said, it IS a popularity contest and nothing more.   It's a shame that threads like this are "commonplace" these days.

I try to help the new guys when i can. Had some poor guys on the help channel that didn't realize it's the help channel and wondered why they can't get the locations of buffs people are talking about on country channel. I let them know they were on the wrong channel and even giving away cv and mission locations to the other side. Seemed like they understood after i explained but then 10 mins later they start again on help channel, oh well.

Been great!   I'm just sick and tired of these types of threads nowadays.   If you help them in game, great.   If you ignore the "new guys", then you made your choice, suck it up and let it go.

You get cracking on the Z24 yet?

Sorry I offended you, but I'm not pissing on anyone, I was only trying to explain why they were not getting anyone to join there missions and that it was nothing against them. Please re-read the post, maybe with your glasses this time and you will see that I was not downing there game play just there choices while creating a mission and that could be why no one was joining. And if you have nothing intelligent to add to this post then why add a comment.

The only missions I have been in are fun missions. Up a bunch of stukas with no bombs and do a fighter sweep. Attack a base with TBMs. Those are very enjoyable missions.

For the new folks wanting to do a mission..... just make it fun and forget the folks who get over zealous. There are those in this game who take it too serious and want to capture capture capture..... we refer to them as dirt farmers.
