My Day at School today.
« on: April 21, 2009, 04:34:18 PM »
So here i am in bed...6:30 CT. It's the first day Of MCA Testing, a test which determines weather or not I get into high school, So i am pretty nerve wrecked. I grab breakfast, a shower, get dressed and ride my bike to school. I take the test (Pretty long and hard) and due to that, my rest of the day is in the dumps. I grab my book bag and head off to science class.

I get to my desk, and put my head down. it's 10:15 and kids are starting to arrive at class. An announcement over the speaker in the classroom goes on. "Attention: All 8th grade teachers who wish to see 'the man out back' please bring your students outside at this time." "Great" I thought "another job speech." So we wnent outside and it is cold. Very cold. 42 degrees with a wind of 40 mph. all i had was a small short sleaved casual shirt.  :uhoh

So we wait outside for 15 minutes and all i see is 4 police cars circling the back lot of the school. no 'guy outback' "Just another D.A.R.E Thing I guess" We wait for another 15 minutes and a Helicopter fly's by. "Just another military training exercise" i think to myself (The Pessimist I am.) it circles around my school at about 1000 feet. "Now he's just showing off" i say. he goes out of sight as he roars past my school. But a minute later he comes in on the back lot of my school and to my suprise looks like he is beginning a landing procedure.

 :O

I Watch as a Black hawk helicopter lands only 300 feet away from the crowd. dead grass and leaves fly at us at 100 mph. I duck down as girls and boys ahead of me are hit with them.  :) the black hawk shuts down and everyone runs at full speed to it. we all gather around as the Pilot gets out and gives us a speech about the aircraft, what it was used for in Iraq and how to get your pilots license (Which i already know.)

After the speech nearly everyone had questions. one boy asks if it has air conditioning. the pilot responds with a "Yup I'll show you".  He opens the side door of the Helicopter.   :lol

Don't you love the smell of JP5 in the morning?  :)

Pictures to come within the week (Teacher has to e-mail them to me) so please post to make sure this thread isn't lost within the BBS.

Thank you!

no School starts at 8:00 and ends at 2:45. I had Science class at 10:15.  :)

As for the test, I won't know until the first day of school next year, when people stand at the door turning people down.  :lol

We go 7:30 to 2:10 except on Wednesdays where we arrive an hour earlier. M/Tu/F we go to all seven periods. Wednesday is 1A23, Thursday is 4567. "A" would be "Advisory," a stupid little class that's meant to prepare us for the independent project we have to complete outside of class in order to graduate.
However, these past two weeks have been WASL testing for the sophomores. That means everyone else gets to arrive at 10:15 Monday/Tuesday and  do that same split as on normal Wednesday/Thursday with Advisory first on Monday only. This week has early release on Thursday for parent conferences, so Wednesday will be late start with 1234, then Thursday will be early release with 567.

I'd rather go to school at 9-3:30 every day.

I think he is talking about getting into some good high school.
