Hey all,

OK first:

The specs I've read on the b17g state that the b17g had 13 guns total but I can only think of 12.. heres my list

-----
4 (1 each cheek + 2 chin)
2 (2 bottom)
2 (tail)
2 (top)
2 (1 each side)
--
12 ?
-----

So which one am I missing?

And the second question is really a game question, the above mentioned specs also state the b17 carried on avg. 8,000 - 10,000 lbs. of bombs, so why only 6,000 in the game?

The radio room had a 50cal in most F model B17s and some G model 17s. Was usually removed to save weight.

You left out the chin turret in the B17. Only early models didn't have it. It was installed to "discourage" HO's by enemy fighters.

As for bomb load, 8-10K is way high. It could carry that much and more, but with the weight of fuel required for a normal mission (from England), 4-6K was typical. See Joe Baugher's Database for the B-17F at http://home.att.net/~jbaugher2/b17_11.html
