CV Command
« on: April 23, 2009, 10:04:03 AM »
It would be helpful to others if you have Control of a Task Group to pay attention. Watch for incoming Bombers. Be aware when the enemy is ranging the Group with shore batteries or an Enemy Group. Warn others of intent to turn so they don't go off the side during takeoff. Give up Command if you're not involved with the battle or are too distracted. A CV is a terrible weapon to waste.

Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

If you takeoff from a carrier, HIt f3 then F8...pan up and take off like that.  MUCH MUCH MUCH easier...try it.  You can takeoff from a cv in a tight circle this way.  Might not make it off with 1000lbers , rockets and 50 fuel tho! :)

wth is going on in that pic? isnt that rather close to the ship to be using depth charges, surely the carrier risks hull damage at that range?

Years ago, I found a great essay written by Widewing on CV ops.  Must reading.

Just another reason to cap arenas at a more managable number = 150 MAX.

I dunno, looks Photochopped to me. The tower on the carrier appears to be casting a shadow to the right, while the water plume is casting a shadow to the left.... two different light sources and we only have one sun.  :)

Also, the shadow under the carrier looks fake.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I hate trying to log into late war only to find it full, and all other arenas practically empty...

of course, I guess capping at 150 would force the other arenas to populate......
