Question about D-9 Art.

Why are the upper surface colors changed, Nate? Are you going by a different picture of the aircraft or RLM colors?

Very Good Job BTW

I'm going by a different book. "Aircraft of the Luftwaffe Fighter Aces II". They had a more detailed picture, plus they listed the RLM colors. RLM 82/81 on top, RLM 76 on bottom. The other picture didn't look like it had the right colors. I'll post the pic I used.

NATE did u put in the name "Christl" on the other side under the cockpit? She was Gerd Barkhorn's wife.

HTC doesn't put swastikas (sp?) on their airplanes because some people might not like it.

Not what I would do, but it's their choice, not mine.  (I am not a proponent of being "P.C.").

It's definitely NOT against the law in the United States to display swastikas.  However, it is against the law in other countries with active players, such as Germany.  My guess is that excluding swastikas was a concession to laws in those countries.

oh ok, great. Thx for the info.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't mind because it goes under "historical representation", looks even good on planes. Now if I see it on a flag in a street when I drive by, that bothers me.

I respect and understand HTC's choice.

Nice, but something more fancy like JV 44 colors would have been even better.

No thanks glunz. Maybe if we were doing a circus show tho.

Be happy with what you got, excellent artwork for a plane we've been squeaking and moaning for since beta.

Yep, I like this one a lot. Looks great, and easy to ID too thx to the stripe (that's the only think that helps me to differenciate the FWs in dogfight). I will have problem with A5 - F8, they both have a yellow stripe

When i flew FA 2 the German planes had Swastikas on one side only, this lasted for a couple month's then one day we had a patch come out and they were all removed, it is purely "PC" B.S. if u ask me. I understand why HT does not have them on the planes and i do not fault them for this i fault the twisted premise that has forced them to have to do  such a thing. Within the historical context of  depicting these aircraft as they actually were i see no problem in Displaying it.

I think they should be put on, it really makes the plane look more 'menacing'. Even though that symbol stood for terrible things during the Nazi regime that I don't beleive in at all its a really cool looking symbol imo.
