P39-Ostwind Killer? I want to find out.......
« on: October 24, 2000, 12:05:00 PM »
Pyro, a P39 of any 37mm carrying variant would be much appreciated   I was quite partial to it for ack suppression in WB. I imagine a few rounds of 37mm from the top in an Ostwind would work quite well and am dying to test my theory   I'm not concerned about it's lack of handling and vulnerability in this arena, it's just that much more of a challenge to get it home

I'd personally like to see more early war variants before we get the "Perk Planes".

Oh man, the Bell P39 Aircobra. I loved that plane in WB.

LOL!  Pyro, if you're reading this now you have a reason for the BFG plane!  To restore the balance that the ostwind has disrupted

Hmm, come to think of it, maybe that's why the ostwind was placed here to begin with ...

P-39Q, Il-2m3, and Yak-9T!!!

It will still be a real 'iffy' prospect, but a steep diving attack may do the trick with any of these planes.

Aper, the Yak-9UT also had the 23mm, 37mm, and 45mm options, and would easily fit into our Yak-9U aircraft as optional armament.

Plus the Yak-9UT has alot more power than the Yak-9T or Yak-9K

Well, LW need a plane that can bust tanks with cannons a lot more than than the yanks. As do the Italians, the russkies and the Japanese.

JU-87 with 37mm - it'll be a single purpose weapon and won't be used in an a2a role.

Am afraid the others will be subject to dweeberymuch like other planes are being misused.

Can I have the Piaggio P.108A to shoot at ground targets with? :-)

It'll never be used air to air.

I think the P-63 would be a good late war add for the game, and some (most?) of the modeling could be used to add the P-39 for early war.

Well, to be fair to HTC, this is, after all, an American game with, I'm pretty sure, a mostly American player base.  It would make no sense to produce a game for a limited player community that doesn't focus on the aircraft of its main customer base.  I'm sure more non-American type aircraft will make its way here, but only after the fact.

An unfortunate direction for me personally, but a very sound one for HTC, and I certainly won't fault them for that
