Amphibious tanks
« on: April 28, 2009, 05:23:41 PM »
You all have probably heard of it, its the sherman DD (duplex drive). That's the tank with the canvas awning attatched to the hull of the tank, raised, and supported by a metal frame. Oh yah, now the LVT's can actually have some tank support and something that can deal with some of the larger tanks in the game . It was originaly used with the M4 Sherman but I think it could probably be used with the Sherman firefly if the awning was increased in size a little bit, or we could use the original Sherman tank and offer the 75mm gun to the Sherman Firefly which would open the option of the canvas awning to be used on the tank. Or they could put in the ability that many tanks had; to be submerged in up to 10ft of water for some tanks and remain there for up to an hour for some.

Ok wrongway, you are right about that, I meant with a modified version of the setup which I thought they used, but I guse they didn't even make one, sorry about that. I still stand by my idea, it would be a good addition, along with the tank destroyers like the jagdpanther, jagdpanzer, and jagdtiger. If you wan't to raise the issue of them being swamped then I would respond that there is no waves or chop in AH2 that I can see when driving the LVT's and PT boat. Also unless I am making a mistake, the mulberry harbor was severly damaged on one beach and the tanks still made it to the beach. But still, please tell me what you think about the second idea I had.
