« on: April 27, 2009, 11:43:11 AM »
Question...what was it that they found? My mom called me the other day saying the found a WWII plane in the Pacific Ocean and were able to pull it out of the water in one piece. I have tried to find the news broadcast that she seen but was not able to find it so far. Any one know anything bout this?

In one of the last issues of Pacific Fishing there's an article about them finding a ww2 sub (uss grunian (sp?) off of Adak island. The son of someone on the sub chartered the F/V Aquilla to go looking, and after two years they found it.

Not a plane, but recent, ww2, and the pacific...  ;)

I think it is spelled Grunion. The sons of the skipper had been researching for years, and searching for a couple of years when they thought they figured out where it was. They eventually got sonar images, and then finally a photos from an unmanned vehicle.

She's not one of the women on my last flight to Chicago who looked at the cloud shadows on Lake Michigan and asked with a totally straight face "Are those whales?" is she?
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

You know I use the term "LoL" rather liberally but I rarely actually laugh out loud.  This is on of those rare instances. :lol

Just watched the Donkey film, the internets made me lol twice in 15 minutes.  Pretty good day except that I was eating while watching the film, and long after Donkey was down Russheim busted out one last "mayday" and I almost choked while laughing.
