Basically im getting from this is that theres an arena cap because HiTech believes that players have the most fun between 1-500 players

But HiTech i am more than willing to buy this conclusion (it does make sense), however where did you recieve this data to bring you to that conclusion?

He's using the information he gathers for his business. I'm sure its more complicated than this, but basically more people where canceling their account AFTER the 500 population number became a more nightly occurrence. TT (Titanic Tuesday) was put in to remind  people why they don't like one big arena.

I'm confused....

if people don't like being in an arena with "too many people" - I'm assuming LW Orange or better yet "Titanic Tuesday" - why do we need another arena? There's already Blue, and there's EW and MW where someone can see as few other people as as they desire, even fly around for hours without seeing another soul.

Heck, you can do that in LWO, even TT... and at peak hours too... just avoid any part of the map where there's any significant darbar.... up from a remote base where there's little to no action, and have at it!

If 200 is too "angry" for your tastes in LWO when a lot of people are there..... TURN IT OFF.

Why is that so hard? Why are people even arguing over this? It's pretty dumb, IMHO.

what about FSO?

FSO is an organized event. There is nothing "organized" about the main arenas. Some of the scenarios have huge numbers too, but its all very structured with objectives assigned and such. The mains are more of a free for all with everything available.

More than a bit confused.

I believe it's not so much a matter that people don't "like" the arena when over 500 as much as people get frustrated when the numbers are over 500.

You have to compromise between lots of action and a situation where you either can't get in the air because there are too many enemy in one place, can't kill anything because there are too many friendlies in one place, or just too much going on at the same time.  Sensory overload.

It would seem they have figured 500 as being around the breaking point.
