constant re-calibration of joystick

I am finding more and more lately that I have re-calibrate my joystick daily...I have a Saitek ST290 pro.. I notice my plane will drift left or right while in autopilot(or is that not related ?)

How old is it? Do you recalibrate at desktop first?

its about a year or so old....most of the time I re-cal through game...once a week I go through desk top.

the tiffy has a strong pull to one side in auto-pilot. Other might as well just not as strong. Do you fly the tiffy a lot?

As for the sticks, a year is sometimes the most you can expect. In the game, check the raw inputs to see if they are spiking at all, if they are your stick might be on its way out.

First off increase dead band slightly in your roll and axis.

If your deadband is set too low any tiny wiggle might turn off autopilot. Then yes torque can make it slowly roll left or right depending on the plane.

I use to have the same stick.I made apractice of recal when logging on as mine would wear outBy all means go with CH product.I bought the combat stick and love it.So much smoother.I wouldnt buy the x52 as I have seen too much negative comments on here.

These are the two you need....

FighterStick

Rudder Pedals because the CH DOSE NOT MAKE a twisty stick.

The Throttle is a great add-on but if your trying to save money you don't "need" it.... though that is what I told my wife  :D

The FighterStick has a throttle wheel, so you can set your throttle there. There are also 2 other CH sticks, but for the $20 more the FIghterStick is a better buy in my opinion. Newegg does have them, but at the time of this post the stick was $20 more and the pedals were $10 more.
