keep your old stick hooked up and use in conjunction with your new one. I use the throttle on my old logitech 3d instead of the one on my new ch cause I like it better. also gives me 15 extra buttons to use.

will the computer recognize both joysticks at the same time ? it won't cause a conflict ?

The game will allow up to 8 joysticks to be attached at the same time.  Windows has no problems with it either.  The only potential issues you might have would occur if you moved the sticks to another USB port, as that would cause Windows to generate new ID's for the sticks.

Also, you probably would have issues with the onboard USB ports constantly resetting due to excess power draw from that many devices.  An externally powered USB hub should take care of that.

pretty much all 8 of my usb ports are in use. wont a hub cause a drain anyways...my joystick issue only started happening within the last month. i've tried playing around with dampening and recalibrating both in windows and in the game.

It could be your computer USB voltage causing your calibration issues.
Before you dropped a ton on a ch setup, you may want to pick up a powered usb hub  and see if that helps.
A powered hub helps take the load off your motherboard by supply the USB voltages externally.

An external POWERED hub.  All USB devices get thier power from the USB bus.  If the current draw exceeds the limits of the USB bus, then devices constantly reset.

If all of your USB ports are inuse, you are probably overdrawing the power they can supply.

An external powered USB hub supplies the connected devices with power, and only draws the minimum needed, from the computer USB bus, to maintain a connection.

The hub will definitely help if you are using all your usb inputs like skuzzy said to much draw.  If you decide to go CH get the fighterstick not the combat. The fighterstick has a few more buttons. hope this helps.
