Prototype vs production. That's where I draw my line.

I'd love to fly one. But did it ever get produced?

I found this in an article by Emmanuel Gustin:

Quote
Production of the F2G ended after eight prototypes, five F2G-1s and five F2G-2s were completed. The original order for 418 F2G-1s was cancelled, because the end of the war removed any need for the F2G.

Indian,

If it only had black crosses on the wings, then that would qualify it for AH production.

....and we could enjoy the incessant begging for it just as we have for the other stuff.

As usual though, the Allies will just take what HTC produces in their own time and way.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Not everything The f4u remained in production for a very long time. It was one of and still is the most produced a/c ever.

Yep I think the F2G would be the ultimate "perk" plane in my opinon.

It has the speed/climb/acceleration where it counts in the AH arena. Below 10k.

Would LOVE to see this plane
