Just an FYI to anyone interested. Easeus Disc Partition (free) worked great. It's very intuitive and will change partition and logical drive sizes simultaneously, moving your data as needed. You just click on the partition you want to change, drag the edge of it with the handle and then click appy. It shuts down the system and as it re-enters Windows it brings up a DOS program which executes the change. Then it reboots the system and as soon as it enters Windows it brings up the DOS program that reports that everything is done. As soon as the DOS window closes XP starts right up.
When I resized my operating system partition Windows did ask me to re-start one more time but it wasn't a big deal. It did'nt require that extra re-start when I resized the storage partition.
It's a very handy and very powerful free tool that I will keep in my sytem toolbox.
