my bike i just finished up
« on: May 08, 2009, 07:03:27 PM »
hey guys here are a few pics of the finished product lemme know what ya think oh and by the way thx Frenchy for the info i tried it on my bike about the masking everything off. It made clean-up real quick but took forever to mask everything off. Not sure if ima do it again it was quicker just cleaning all the residue off than to mask everything but i appreciate the info <S>

I'm surprised u tried  :salute I'm impressed. I use those big rolls of paper, or even fin painter plastic sheeting to cover the wide areas. You might be right, on a bullet bike it's quicker to clean rather than taping, on HDs and classics, with all those intricate engine fins & spoke wheels, maybe not. BTW, since we share "speed tips" : I use a leaf blower to dry the bikes once I cleaned them, works awsome :aok

The bike looks good mate, what's the name of that blue?

That's not a Yamaha, it's a Kawi. Looks like one of the 6Rs from a couple of years back.

I'd love to own a bike one day if it wasn't for 2 things. A.) I'm only sitting at around 145 pounds(which seems a bit light to me to control one reliably, could be wrong there).

B.) I'm pretty confident I'd wrap myself around a tree one one due largely to point A.

That thing is gorgeous though. Nice work!

thanks everyone for the positive comments believe it or not this is only the 4th bike ive painted ever!!! when i say bike i mean anything i have not painted any cars yet but that will come soon (my dad has a '68 Mustang he's had since he was 16 he is 47 now) i will restore my dad's car w/ him because he sacrificed that car for his family so i feel i need to help him get it going, now that us "kids" are gone  :)

anyway toof you'd be alright my girl weighs 125 and she wants to get a bike just like mine, but at least she is smart because she will not ride one w/o training when you ride its not usaually you that will kill yourself its the other ppl around just respect the machine and its power and you will be fine/ plus the feeling is like none other when your on it  :rock

that color would look nice on a 68 mustang IMO.  Not really into bikes, but Im sure I will be 1 day. Seen afew drag on speed channel. 1/4 mile 6-7 seconds I think dang. Nice job. My jeep is just a tad darker blue then that. I like a metallic silver color also. Don't know what its called. cool bike. :aok
