la5 e retention

I have been flying the la5 alot now.

I love it!

One funny thing it holds e like planes did during the first few tours.

I mean on landing you cant burn off e fast even with 2 notches of flaps.

This is for you plane testers out there.

Imo something is off here.

I wondered about that myself eye, since I fly the la5 myself.

I did some testing (ended up I was testing basically prop drag), the la5 won.  I don't actually know if this is wrong though.  Basically out of all the planes in AH it seems to have the least amount of prop drag.  The n1k was second.

I used to the fly the La5 almost exclusively last tour, but moved onto the tiffie (for practise for the Afrika Corps event). The La5 is a great plane, despite its lack of armament or range. I flew it back in 1.03 and when we moved to 1.04 it got better - e-retention increased, but I thought all the FMs got this tweak.

After flying the tiffie alot (which flies like a brick at idle) the La5 does seem to be a great glider, and landing takes some getting used to.

Bring on the La7.

Come in for a landing hot say at 300 mph.

Turn motor off start weaveing to drop speed.

Drop gear at 200 flaps as fast as you can. The la5 just wont drop speed.
 
Try the same thing in a spit or 109. In them you can bleed e much quicker. The la5 is a radial engine plane if you turn it it should bleed e faster than a 109 or spit.

Im not sure whats up but i do know this is a gem of a plane
Much under used in the ma.
