USB Mouse difficulties
« on: May 12, 2009, 12:11:04 AM »
I Bought a Logitech USB mouse and now mouse look won't work. The cursor still moves with both my laptops touch pad and the USB mouse, but even after cycling through shift+m multiple times and setting mouse look as default, it will not engage. I unplugged the USB mouse and restarted and it still won't go into mouse look. I didn't install any software with the mouse, otherwise I would have already removed it. I'm stumped and having a hard time flying without mouse look :( .

Disregard, and delete.

I found out mouse mapping had gone kaput. Remapped it and it seems to be fine.

Ok, problem came back next time I tried to play. Reinstalled the game to no effect. Is there a way to find out if the something was installed when I plugged the receiver in? I can still move cursor around screen, but the guns fire when I hit the buttons, something I don't want. The cursor will toggle into/out of mouse control mode so I know it's not stuck in it.  Help?  :pray

Wireless?  I have seen odd anomalies with wireless mice.  Usually attributable to some type of conflict.  If you are running any security software, try disabling it.

RedTeck, is it possible the mouse mapping was lost after you exited AH?

I've since unplugged the wireless mouse and thrown it in a drawer, and am back to just using my laptops touch pad. I deleted the driver for it and still no luck. I have the x and y axis for mouse assigned to view pitch and yaw and it doesn't work. I did notice the numbers for the axis don't change when I move the mouse. Is it somehow still looking for the other mouse, even though the touchpad moves the cursor around the screen?

I pulled my old ST290 out and tried it, and mouse look works fine. Thats just weird. I'll try uninstalling the saitek software and drivers for my evo force and reinstall.

Did you map, "Global Mouse Control Toggle" to one of the buttons on the mouse? If not, go ahead and map it then press the button on the mouse that you mapped it to. Afterward moving the mouse should move the Y and X Axis. Let me know how it turns out.

I think I'm done with Logitech USB Mice

Went to plug it back in and try it, didn't get the "New Hardware" doorbell so I went to pull it out and reinsert it. The case came of and something fell off the circuit board and it wouldm't become recognized and mouse didn't work.  Just to make sure it wasn't going to explode, it has now been reduced by 5 rounds of 00 Buckshot :).

Thanks for the help though.
