Generally when the discussion of damaging ordinance is brought up the consensus is that rounds would not penetrate the bomb casing.

Cannon rounds are usually HE. So it would be even more difficult to punch through. In any case the bomb case is a cylinder it would be extremely difficult to get a good angle on it, ignoring penetration altogether.

I think along the same lines as exploding drop tanks is jammed release on ords and drop tanks do to bullet damage to release mechanism.
