The C Drive and "Administrative Rights"

My Dad Recently Set Himself of the Administrator of our computer. Ive tried Recording Videos and Taking Screen Shots but none show up in the AHII folders. He set the Rights so no one but him can save under the C drive, thus allowing me to have to log in and Use His Computer account to do so.


Is there a way for me to set it so that I can save somewhere else?

Not installing the game to the default location is a good start.

So I just Install it to, say, "My Documents"?

And If I re-install it will I loose my Screen shots and videos from the C drive?

If yor computer is running Vista, you do not want the game to be installed in its default location under "Program Files" as Vista moves things around without asking as they are created.

Installing the game outside the "Program Files" folder will sove the problems of finding ffilms, screenshots, and so on.

What he's saying is that his dad turned off 'write' permissions to drive C: for everyone but himself.

As a result, he is unable to save any files (screen shots, etc) from aces high because the permissions won't allow it.

What you need to do is have your dad either re-organize his security efforts (it is unwise to lock out an entire drive like that).... or add a partition to the hard drive, creating a 'virtual' drive (D: for example) that you could use to save things to.

If he is unwilling to do this, you could always use an external hard drive, 'pen' drive... or risk getting in trouble and logging on as him and setting this up yourself.

he has no clue on how to do security and stuff. He Just clicked the "Set Administer button" on his computer. I have asked him this millions of times, because of the majority of my time playing is on my Log in under the computer.

OK in that case, log on as him... go to control panel/users accounts, and set YOUR account as an administrator as well.

If it still won't save data, try reinstalling Aces High into a different folder (such as C:\Aces High) that isn't in the 'Program Files' folder.

Well, if he can't write to the C:\ drive, what makes you think he will be able to move Aces High to C:\Aces High ?

I recommend you not load it to C:\Aces High

if you need to reinstall the game.  just change it from it's default location of  C:\programfiles\HTC\Aces High II\

to
 
C:\HTC\Aces High II\    do this by highlighting and erasing the following part  "\programfiles"  leaving the  C:  and   \HTC\Aces High II\ part then click on accept or ok to install to this new directory that it will create........

doing it like this once installed will not cause you any problems when updates or new patches come out when you autodownload them when logging into the game.....

I maybe wrong with this logic......but I think Aces High II looks for the HTC root folder then the sub directory of Aces high II.....

I am sure others will correct me, if I am wrong though.........

If you can't save on the local disk, what do you save word documents and stuff on to?

That's on the C:\ Drive unless your disk is partitioned...
I think just your Program Files folder is just locked. Install Aces High in a different folder.
