Do kills per sortie and 20mm rounds or .50cal rounds per kill. Okay for planes like Spitfire 109, 190 ammo spent per kill is skewed cause they have both types or even 30mm.

It's obvious from those figures that noone flys the F4U-1D anymore, they might as well exchange it for a -1A or -4. At least those models of Corsair might get flown more than the -1D is.

Look what has happened to La-5FN's K/D. It used to be one of the high ones, now it's the second lowest.

La5 is a great vulched plane.. If the vulch is real close and field is on a hill I will usually take it...but this really hurts its stats.. Are the hills moving the battles higher?

I don't know if it's the hills, the higher level of player experience or the aircraft types (the "heavy cannon" aircraft tend to live longer when they have alt..think FW B&Z) or maybe all these factors.

The fighting is usually higher here tho than in the other two games.

Seems like it takes 20K to "open" and more if you want to be sure.

Good or bad? I don't know if it's either...it just IS. It's how we're playing this game.

I tend to spit on the K/D's, just because those are not the real numbers that can be done with it.
Spitfire is great plane, but mostly went down with K/D because its used with N1K2 alot when defending heavily vulched fields.

Also P-51 K/D is ruined because many tends to do low E fights in it (see what great fame does, people thinks it can turn & run everything :P)

....and so on....

La5 lost it's WEP above 8k, therefore is now a strictly low alt fighter. Going high is fine but risky, and now with so many late war planes a 1943 design is showing it's age badly.

Don't take away my 1D.  I fly hawg as primary fighter and twice I have flown spit for base defense.  I use the 1C for a buff interceptor but for fighting it is only the 1D.  Would love to see a checkered board cowling on one of the versions so you can tell easier which is which

I'm probably responsible for the low showing of the la5.  One morning, knights were down to 5 online, and Rooks were hitting f24.  Most of the Knights were fighting Bish off by f7/f22.  I literally defended f24 alone, and with ack completely down.  I tried again & again to take off, but was vulched countless times by Ypsilon(51), COMIC(spit), and another Japanese player(spit).  In the end, two C47s showed up, and filled the sky with 20 parachutes.  I got maybe four of those chutes, but must have died at least ten times without a kill.  Sorry about the drop in K/D, but I had to do it - Za Rodinu! - 'For the Motherland!'
