High Blue Battle Frame 3 Score and Final Score
« on: May 23, 2009, 09:44:59 AM »
Frame 3:

Axis:

Fighters shot down: 80 for 160 pts

Bombers shot down: 107 for 1070 pts

Total: 1230 pts

Allied:

Fighters shot down: 142 for 284 pts

Ground Targets: 1135 pts

Total: 1419 pts

Axis Final Total (all 3 frames): 3702

Allied Final Total (all 3 frames): 4064

Its noteworthy that despite being outnumbered the Axis shot down more a/c in all 3 frames, and the bombers took considerable losses as well, in all 3 frames, despite a strong presence of B-17s, B-24s, and B-26s.

A reasonably close event as far as FSOs go, Allies won it by @ 10 percent more on score over 3 frames, losing frame 1 but winning the last 2. As I have said before, "scoring" is a purely subjective thing, entirely an invention of the designers, but it allows some reason to focus on objectives. I hope it was a fun event, and I thank the CiCs for doing the great work of leading their sides in battle. :salute

Good times all around. Good Job FSO Team  :aok

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Just curious.
How is it determined how many of each plane type was shot down?
In the last frame 2 squads (353rd and Jokers) were assigned as JABO in 47D25's
Jokers lost 6 aircraft and the 353rd lost 10.
If Jabo is shot down after dropping bombs and acting as a fighter is scoring for shooting down a bomber?
I think it probably should since it was the assignment.
Also how is it determined how many were shot down? Is it based on the planes that say "shot down" in the logs?
For instance in the 353rd we show 3 captured by enemy forces and 1 tragicaly crashed out of 10 planes lost.
These are the result of being shot up bailing out after trying to make it home.  Are these counted as shot down?
I assume they are.
Im not questioning the score and don't think it would make a lot of difference, I'm just curious how the scoring is calculated.

Thanks
 :salute

I see it now. Original orders were JABO and they were changed for the Jokers. 353rd still was JABO
Question still stands on scoring.
Also when there's a death by friendly fire does that count as points for the opponent?

"Fighter" means any aircraft that has the fighter category.

"Bomber" means any aircraft that has the bomber category.

Question?

If allied hit a base that is not a target in the objectives, Do those damage points count towards the final score? I didn't see base 72 as a target.

Just wondering. Not that all those gun points would really make much of a difference anyways.

No, they would not count, and "guns" are worth a paltry 0.1 pt each, so even if you destroyed 20 of them, you would get 2 pts, the cost of a single fighter.  Hardly worth the risk really.
