Man threatening to jump...is pushed!
« on: May 23, 2009, 07:58:36 PM »
I saw the news clip out of China i think it was where the guy is threatening to commit suicide blah blah blah, and this other guy walks up, shakes his hand, and pushes him. :O Priceless i laughed my butt off.

Read the "pushers" reasoning and it is exactly what i usually think when i see situations like this pop up. I say kudo's to the guy. :aok

Just my 2 cents worth.

Agreed.  People who want to commit or DO commit suicide are very selfish in my opinion.  He shoulda been pushed off.

Someone who really wants to jump will just go ahead and do it.
Anyone who sits there and just threatens to jump for 5 hours isnt serious about it and nothng more then a public nuisance.

Then again. maybe he really did want to jump. Climbed up there then discovered he was afraid of heights.

either way. pushing hi off was a good move IMO.

He actually fell on air cushions so he survived with minor injuries. Wonder why they didn't push him before.
Suicide folks are no joking matter though. There have been a few jumping from a bridge into a mean big river in my old home-town. Most of them scream for help when they are in the water. Then they drown. The river is completely ice-cold and has a strong current, as well as a "whirlpool". Almost everybody that gets in there, willing or not is dead within a few minutes. Corpses and even entire cars are just retrieved on some occasions.
A spur of the moment and you're dead.
But come on, 5 hours?

I like that the man who did the pushing was 66 years old.  You have to be a senior to have hope of getting away with that.

I still think anyone who threatens to commit suicide should be assisted by any means possible. If you're that stupid and selfish, get it over with and get the hell out of our hair. A lot of "attempts" and "threats" would never happen if people didn't know that the police, media and medical community would fawn over their every whim and bend over backwards to make them feel special.

Personally I'm offended that I'm required to make every attempt to save the life of an inmate who attempts to kill himself. Why should I possibly put myself at risk of catching god knows what diseases- and almost guaranteed lawsuits from his family even if I succeed- if he decides he doesn't want to live any more? I say I should be allowed to show him the proper way to tie a noose and lock him in the storage room for an hour or so.

You will think so until somebody you care for will do it. Then you will do just about anything to prevent the event.
I know this one first hand. I did indeed involve and stop such a deal, some good while ago.

However, if this is a persistent thing, or - not to mention - some nameless arse-hat jamming traffic for 5 hours while (unknowingly) having a life-saver right down under....then, kick the bugger  :t

I've had two close friends do it. Never felt grief, just anger that they could be that stupid and shortsighted. Frankly, I think there's a lot of people the world would be better off without, and if they want to do it themselves, saves the rest of us the trouble.

I also think dueling should still be legal. I admit my views are a bit off. But I promise I won't be climbing any clock towers in the near future.

Now see if this happened in America. The person who was pushed would have a law suit against the pusher and would win it.
