Wings of Terror Squadron Video
« on: May 25, 2009, 02:00:36 AM »
Hi all,
I made a squad video in my spare time...took me about 4 days to do. My first vid in 3 years using Vegas so don't be too harsh! :) Hope you enjoy. Also please pay attention to the lyrics as they play important parts in the video. (You'll find out when you watch it)

If you want to download it I can put it on my server, it looks great full screen in WMP11 both on my 19" and 6' projector.

Nice, I like the editing, angles and soundtrack.  :aok

You did not adapt it to Vimeo format though? There are black bars on the edges. You know you can when in the properties window of a clip in Vegas right click anywhere on the video preview and select 'Match Output Aspect'. If you have the project properties resolution set to 4:3 aspect ratio it will adapt the clip to that aspect ratio, within its video frame. That's the fastest and easiest way to get rid of those black bars.

Glad you enjoyed it! Vimeo seemed to be the only one that made the black bars, when I uploaded it to YT it looked fine (before it got taken down by WMG...long story). I just tried to find MAtch Output aspect, but when I right clicked the preview it didn't have it. The ratio seems to be dead on when right clicking a clip and it seems to be dead on...4:3 shows it will make lines at the top though...

Ok, bad description by me, it's not inte preview. It's in the edit properties window, where there is also a preview. The Edit Properties window! Hope that helps. :)

Ahh I see. I clicked it, but it didn't show to change anything in the little preview thing it shows...

It depends what output resolution and consequently aspect ratio that you have chosen, and how you have set the frame for that clip already. If the video clip and output aspect ratio are the same there obviously won't be a change. However it is useful when you are recording fraps from the film viewer in windowed mode and don't get the same aspect ratio as your monitor, or if you want a different output format. :)

Heh....very confusing. Well, I don't really want to screw around with that stuff right now, I'm sure the 1px lines on each side can wait a bit, I made this in my free time and I just got loaded with design work I need to do now. :furious

Great opening and conclusion. You synchronized the majority of your film very nicely with your music selection. Have to be careful, a few of those shots were somewhat dark, you might attempt to brighten them just a tad to allow viewers to see what's going on. You might also start experimenting with sound-effects and the camera shots system. Utilize both of them with your current editing skills and you will start generating a decent sized fan-base.

Watch out Niros and Mathis, he's coming for you! ;)

Lovely job! :aok

Yeah I'd say it's decent quality...wish I could render it in HD, but since the avi files are the ones with no quality, HD is useless.

Glad you guys like it.

And while you have a fan club going here, I get no attention whatsoever for the films I make.

It must be because I fly German iron, or that I'm making the wrong type of films. In making films I do not seek popularity, but if someone enjoy watching my films I would love to hear it because that's why I make them.

So I guess the AH community simply does not like my films, but that's alright because I still enjoy making them.
