Spain sabre rattling over Gibralta again

OK, so now the Spanish are boarding British fishing boats located in British waters.  Don't they have anything better to do?  I mean honestly, Gibralta has been under British rule for almost 300 years.

The last time the Spanish started making noises about Gibralta (1996 ish?) I seem to remember the Royal Marines holding an exercise in the area, "accidentally" storming the wrong beach and invading part of southern Spain.  Uh-huh, yeah cos Royal Marine Commandoes get lost all the time ya know.

Why was it that John and Yoko had to get married there?

Simple.   There are no residency restrictions and you can get married with just 24 hours notice.

Yes, but since it is part of GB why are the laws different there?

Same reason NZ and Australia are different from GB.   Dunno the intricacies, but I know that the "Spur of the moment" is why Lennon got married there.   As did Connery IIRC.

Franco wanted Gibraltar as well, and of course Hitler did too.
Luckily, Franco wanted it so bad himself, that he wouldn't open up for Hitler to catch it  :devil
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Yep, just compare the losses... the victory against the Armada just had a better marketing campaign :D
