Yes.   AH2 is a lot more CPU intensive, as opposed to Video Card intensive.    If you have a good CPU, and a decent video card, you'll max your settings in this game.

Yes,  Stick with thte 512 version, not the 1 Gb version.  Also, ASUS makes a 9500 GT with really fast clock speeds.  As long as users are still rating it highly that's probably the one to go with.  IIRC it's priced similarly with the others.

$25 bucks for an overclocked 512 9500GT. Not really a "gaming" card but you cant beat the price for a budget build. I'd guess you could run game fine at defaults...

i run the 9500gt 1 gig and im having good luck with it lastnight in TT ran a steady 64 FR

There's two reasons to stick with the 512 version:

1.  They generally slow down the memory clock on the 1 Gb cards which actually hurts performance.

2.  All that VRAM counts against allocated system memory so unless you are running a 64 bit OS or only have and ever want 2 Gb of RAM with a 32 bit OS it's reducing the system memory available.

Just read a review on this card....
I am usually vehemently opposed to budget video cards..  But, for what this card is and what you pay for it, it's actually not that bad...
I was thinking this thing wouldn't even out perform my old Geforce 6800 Ultra/Extreme PCI/e w/512..  But, looking at the stats, it
beats it(not by much)..  Plus it supports DX10 incase you ever need to go down that route for anything...

And it's probably more than enough to run AH...  However, if there's a major update anytime soon with some of the stuff we've seen (water, terrain, etc.)
I would spend $20-$30 more and get either 9600GT (huge increase in performance over that 9500GT).  You might be able to find an 8800gt or a 9800gt for
just a tad more than that..

I got an EVGA 9500Gt 512 from newegg about a year ago. It runs AH at 60 fps with everything maxed out. It cost $70 bucks and was worth every penny.

really? :o surely the system doesnt address VRAM directly. i'm confused :uhoh

VRAM totals into your "4GB" total so to speak on a 32-bit OS. System memory seems to be the last to figure in after the computer adds up all the other cache memory and such of other parts in your computer. So in theory if you have 4GB of system memory, and 1GB of VRAM, your comp can only use  3GB of system memory. In real life it would be a bit lower due to the cache of HDDs, CPUs, etc but you get the point.

What he said.  I'll just add that in a 32 bit OS with 4 Gb of RAM the system will only see between 3.25 and 3.75 Gb.  Some of the loss is allocation to the motherboard, USB ports (even if not in use), etc., etc.  My system only sees 3.25 Gb of my 4 Gb installed.  With my 512 8800 GTS installed it only sees 2.75 Gb.  When I had two of these in SLI my system memory was down to 2.25 Gb.

I just bought a 9800GTX+ 512M PCIe from newegg... $139 plus $40 rebate ($99 after rebate).  Also came with a free COD game AND free shipping!

Should be a nice little upgrade over my 7900GS...

Yup it sure is!  16X 2.0...

I should add that I also had to buy a motherboard.. and went ahead and got a new processor... E7400 2.8GHZ.. and 4GB of DDR3 RAM LOL...

but I got a good deal on the VC!  And it looks like I got it just in time too...
