Any man that would call another man names like that, either behind his back or protected by Internet anonymity/hundreds of miles, is a coward of the douchiest sort. Anyway thats my code. Look into a guys eyes if your going to bad mouth him or be branded a sissy.
And I was raised like that. Most men my age here were. This was before the electronic revolution and before boys were expected to get in touch with their inner-feminine. Back then you talked like that about another guy odds were you were going to have to fight. There was no calling the cops, or your parents. Even the teachers then would tell you "ya had it coming".
We get them calling 911 all the time, screeching into their blackberrys, when they are out at a bar or ball game and get trimmed after opening their big mouth, "most times to woman". When the squad pulls up you should hear them yammer and bleat that they were beat up and they want to sign complaints. And usually they start talking smack again when enough uniforms are there to protect them.
Yeah, gee. Real stressful competition.
Sitting at your desktop, in your Jam-Jams, yanking on your little plastic joystick...
Thats some real serious, stressful stuff. Especially when your little cartoon airplane goes down and your rank goes from 451 to 453. Boy, I'm shaking from the stress.
Its happened to me and part of what makes for a great game. Ive felt anger too when a check 6 didn't come my way, "tho within seconds I reminded myself its only a silly computer game".
But a few of these characters?? Why would anyone 1/2 decent even enable them by making exuses for them. If I was a parent, with a kid online when this fool went off? I'd be pretty mad about it.
Ya ya ya. Just like every other guy on the internet you'd pummel someone if they spoke to you, in a certain way, in person. Every last person typing on the internet, you especially, could stomp Chuck Norris.
As far as anger in the game goes, you and I are talking about two different things. The guy who gets mad over a lack of check 6 or that he got kill shot(this is still funny to me... good job) is different from the guy who says something in the heat of the moment after an involved fight. The former is just a knucklehead(with comedic side effects)
Anyone can get caught up in the game and get a little excited.
These are your words and this is the kind of person I'm talking about. I don't know about jamjams and rank, maybe that's your thing. I typically rank somewhere near 2500 and I don't own any jamjams, lol.
The fact is, there are aspects of this game that are competitive. You can mock me for saying this if you like... oh wait you already have mocked me, then you admitted yourself it's competitive. Sometimes people get caught up in the moment and say things. I do this, I'm quite imperfect. I've eaten my share of crow by way of apologizing later, however.
As for kids playing. I stand by my assertion: If you put a kid in a virtual room, which is competitive, with 300 adult age male strangers and expect everyone to behave like it's a church choir, then you have unrealistic expectations.
