Wow !

That's my plane   ! I need this painting immediately !
I knew the germans had some secret weapons

Since this plane has a totally new painting and not only the markings replaced by the german ones, what was it used for ?
Only for evaluation or also for special operations ?

They used it for recon missions
An captured italian P38 was the only allied plane to shoot down a allied plane

Again the p38 hit the records

Didn't the Finnish air force use the Hurricane against the Soviets?

There were many allied aircraft shot down by other allied aircraft. Since we're on the topic of the P-38, what about that idiot RAF Spitfire jockey that shot down the USAAF C-54 carrying 200 sets of dive recovery flap kits for the 8th AF's P-38J fighters?

Errr, false. I'm sure there were many friendly fire cases!!

And the Finnish Air Force is a whole other chapter...

Yes. And don't forget that the FAF had also other "allied" planes in their inventory: Brewsters, Curtiss Hawks, Fokker D.XXI's, Bristol Bulldogs, Gloster Gladiators, Morane Saulnier 406's, as well as captured Russian I-153's, I-16's and LaGG-3's. All of them scored kills against the Russians.

Thx, BUG.

I've read the post about captured allied planes now, too.
What BUG meant is that the captured P38 was the only US-build plane shooting down another US-build plane (B17) in WWII. Friendly fire not taken into account.
