As I walked out of Safeway today, I heard a curious rumble
« on: June 01, 2009, 03:57:58 PM »
I looked to the sky and was amazed see 2 P-51 Mustangs escorting a B-25 Liberator ( I think it was a B-25, it had the curved belly and familiar tail) flying low over lovely West Sacramento.

It looked like they were heading towards Travis AFB or the Bay Area.

The bomber was olive green and I could see red art work on the aircraft.

Anyone have an idea of the bomber I saw today? Curious to see it up close.

Thanks.

B-25?

Or B-24?

Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

I was sitting ontop of my tank today having MRE in the middle of nowhere. I heard a familiar sound from behind, sure enough I looked up and saw a single P-51 w/ D-Day paint job flyin pass about 3k. It was sweet to see a piece of WWII right above my head.

Looks like they're going to be next door in Davis, CA for the next couple days.  I may have to mosey on over there if they're still open after business hours.
