Small Unit Tactics
« on: June 02, 2009, 01:24:21 PM »
While I'm waiting around for the Doctors to make a determination on whether or not I can head off to OCS, can anyone point me in the direction of a decent read on small unit tactics?

Try reading Kama Sutra.
It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence.

Sounds like a good start. Is there anything in particular that stands out in this one?

It was the definitive book for Army leaders at the unit level when I left the service in '99. Not sure whether it has been updated/revised or not.
Used to fly as Halo46, GRHalo, Hobo and Punk at the end.

Seriously?  I'm in the AF and live/work with the army and still consider not joining the army the best decision I ever made.  :)

You looking at active duty or reserve/guard?

I spent 3.5 years on an Air Force base (while active duty Navy) and would have considered not joining the Air Force the best decision I ever made, but then joining you pansies never occurred to me so it doesn't really count ;)

for the record I'm looking for Texas National Guard. The 56th Brigade is going to Afghanistan, and I'm hoping to get through  OCS in time to make the trip.

Well, yes, the ones who live on air force bases are probably pansies.  :D

ed:  good call on the guard, too.  Where would your unit be based?  If you ever make it up to Ft Hood look me up.  :)
