I don't think that the P-39 was replaced by the F4F as the P-39 was land based and the F4F was more of a naval plane, so, don't know for sure, but I'd assume that's like saying that AWACS replaced the battleship...

            :huh

The buffalo tigger, the buffalo was replaced by the F4F.  We were talking about something completely different with the P-39.

not exactly in every case but wasn't the P-39 a widely requested add on to the game only to become a "drag queen"

Umm... no. It's just most people don't have the attention span to actually learn it's quirks, and learn the plane in itself.

I wonder if there will be an addition of a Ruski aircraft for the Brewster to shoot holes into?  Kinda lacks targets with the current planeset.  Needs the Rata or SB-2 :D
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

I think both bombers should be perked if added.  The B-29 for obvious reasons that still have fighter jocks and furballers whining and bickering in about twenty other threads, and the He-177 because if not it would just become another giant suicide machine.  although 177stuka just doesnt have the same ring to it.

As a matter of fact, I think they should perk all bombers that hold more than 4000lbs of ord. in my opinion.

The B-29 is no.1001 on the list of 1001 things Aces High needs.   There is no valid necessity for it.   The Beaufighter, I.A.R. 81c, Swordfish, He-111, Ju-52, G4M, Catalina and D.520 are way the hell out in front of it.    Not only Special Events, but a more broad representation on the participants in WWII.

No, but we are hearing rumors that an ambulance will be modeled allowing us to strafe the wounded en route to hospital.

And I'm sure people would hold this plane with that same respect were it to be added.  I just think we should focus on adding aircraft that will see more all around use instead of just for certain scenarios.

I'll most definitely put the Buffalo through it's paces.   It does something great, that I enjoy doing, it turns good.   I don't care about running from fights, picking, vultching, etc.    That's the problem with this Community, some are confused on why they originally signed up for the game.

I know i'm sort of new to this game and haven't tried all the planes yet but even I think I'd prefer the B-29 over a post WWII torpedo bomber.  I'm thinking since Iv'e found about 20 other threads on the B-29 and about another 20 bringing it up at some point durring the thread (you can throw this one up on that list now  :aok) it looks like more people, definately including me, would rather have the 29 over the planes you just mentioned.

I listed no "Post-WWII Torpedo Bomber".    My statement still stands.

The Swordfish sunk some of the most prominent Naval Ships of WWII.

oops, my bad.  yeah i was talking about the sordfish.  I tried using the JU88 the other day to sink a carrier  :cry and it looks pretty suicidal.  I don't think adding any another torp bird is gonna change those odds at all.

This doesn't say a thing about its capabilities, other than to drop a torpedo.
In the time, it probably was the only torpedo-bomber which could be put to use in numbers.

Other than numbers, the Fish's only advantage would be manoeuvrability and STOL capability!
