Day 1, Join a great NEW CRUSADE!!!!!
« on: May 01, 2000, 03:25:00 PM »
This being May 1st, I thought it would be a good day to begin a new crusade.

Announcing....

BRING THE JUG TO Aces High Crusade!!!

In order to bring our favorite bird to AH we'll stop at nothing. Protest marches, hunger strikes, taking supermodels hostage...(ok...maybe we'll skip the hunger strikes and protest marches.. )

Be a part of a movement, larger than even the vaunted Jug itself.

Join now...you Luftwaffles will be rewarded with tempting new targets...the Allies with the finest fighter of the war.

Pyro, Hitech...I'm not even greedy. I don't want any 47-M or 47N...just a nice 47D with paddle blade prop and decked out in the livery of the 56th F.G. Now...about those pizza orders. Anchovies anyone?

I'm not a Jug lover. In fact I dont like P47 at all, but I know it is a must be in Aces High. The P47 was one of the most important planes in history and must be modelled soon.

So you have my support. you deserve to have the Thunderbolt in Aces High.

No No No Crapgame, your doing it all wrong   <smacks Crapgame upside the head>

You've got to learn the fine art of negotiations.

Anytime you are negotiating, you always ask for more than you actually want, in the realization that you will probably get less than what you asked for, as you get "bargained down".

So in this case you demand the P-47N, in the hopes that you will actually get a P-47D

Now your probably gonna get a B model or something

Public Service Announcement: Now see kiddies' what happens when you have to spend too much time around Lawyers? Just say NO to pit vipers... errr ummmm toad slime... err ummm Lawyers, yah thats it.

P-47N would be great.  Quite a few of them (help me Jug historians) saw combat over Japan.

Yes, this is correct.  A P47N was the first plane to drop a bottle of Jack Danials on Tokyo thus ending the second world war!

Over 1500 P-47 'N's saw escort duty with the B-29's over the Japanses isles in 1945. And the 56th FG had the P-47 'M' in Europe.
We NEED the P-47 M,N or at the least a late model D!!!!!!
Aces High without the Jug is like chomping on hotdogs with out any condiments!!!!

 And that is downright UN-American!!!!!!

As much as I would like to see a M or N modelled, their effect on the war was minimal.
A properly modelled D-25 would do nice, though

The Jug has 3 things going against it:

1) It has no 'exotic' appeal, every WWII aircombat sim has it.  HTC gives a high priority to modeling planes that no one else models (La-5, Typhoon, Macchis, etc).

2) It is on the opposite end of the handling spectrum from the Spitfire.  The Spit is the plane a majority of simmers use as a yardstick, the more differently a plane handles from the Spit, the less they like it.  Check the AH skies and you'll see the majority are in Spits and Nikis.  So, the Jug is potentially a 7 ton hangar queen.

3) No big cadre of hard core P-47 fans.  The Luftwabble planes have some pretty enthusiatic flyers, some of them you never see in anything but LW iron.  Not so the Jug.  I remember in WB I could go days on end without seeing another Jug, friend or foe.

Our beloved Jug is an orphan.  It would not surprise me to see an AH Dora (900 built) before the Jug (15,600 built).  I'm sure it will come some day, until then I fly the Tiffy and Hog and 190 when I want to keep my Jugging skills from fading.
