That must be the ones I've read about. Must have been different instances, because both blurbs had different alts listed as the intercept alt. I had them both out from the library at the same time once upon a time, and said "hold the phone" and grabbed the other book and sure 'nuff the alts listed were a couple hundred feet apart (still, around 49k or so)

The one in England was the highest fight.  There is some explaination for the V's getting that high in the MTO due to all kinds of stuff I don't really understand.  Their single stage Merlins just didn't have enough to get as high as the two stage Merlin of the IX.  It's why the Spitfire VI wasn't successful and the VII was as the VI was a specially built high alt V essentially and the VII was basically a Spitfire VIII built for high alt.

The modified Vs in the MTO had extended wingtips btw, while Galitzine's IX did not.

Yes, Galtizine's aircraft was the one I was thinking of.  I'll finish it off and see what HTC says about it.  The only question I have is did it carry nationality markings on the upper surface of the wings, I'd assume it would have the smaller PRU style type I roundels if any were carried.  I'm on the road right now, I'll have to check the ol' Osprey stack when I get home.

Not a Recon Spitfire, but painted in PRU Blue with PR markings, although the standard fin flash is retained.

79 Squadron, A58-543.

I really don’t like to show people my rough work, but this being my first attempt at rendering a 3D model, I thought it would be best to get as much input from the community as I can.

Currently my main focus is on panel and rivet lines, highlights (which I went a little OTT on) and low lights. I’ve added some rough paint to just get a feel of the above.

Questions:

1) What the bloody hell is the big Black line which runs through the wing, is it a panel line or just decoration? I bring this up because I’ve seen a lot of skins where this line is much bolder then the others.
2) Centre wing, would I be correct in guessing that those are not rivet indents but rather screw housings?
3) How does my rivet and panel lines look, could they do with being made darker?
4) Any skinners fancy spending some time, with me, on The Few's private Ventrilo server? I would love to pick your brains, mmm brains.
5) Is photoshop addiction possible? This is my 3rd project and I don't see myself stopping.

Kazaa, <S>
