2 levels of WEP?
« on: February 07, 2000, 08:30:00 AM »
Referring to Wastel post, I was reasoning about Daimler-Benz powered a/c climb performances. IMHO could be useful to model a second level of WEP. What I mean is:

a) NO WEP = maximum continuous RPM allowed with no engine damage.
b) first WEP = maximum allowed RPM with Military Power (useful for climb rate testing and comparisons with real test data).
c) second WEP = maximum allowed RPM with GM-1 (for the G-2) or MW50 (G-6 and G-10) injections.

In other words, we should have another level of power between maximum RPM allowed (100% RPM with no engine damage, that is) and WEP, especially for DB powered a/c.

Something like this could be modeled for allied a/c as well.
