Option #1
Last night it occurred to me that I'd like a radio keyboard shortcut to type to your Voice channel. This would allow us to gain an extra radio channel.
Typically I use my radio channels for:
1 - Current Mission Channel - /
2 - Local - Shift-/
3 - Country - Ctrl-/
4 - Squad - Alt-/
5 - Current Voice Mission Channel - (no keyboard shortcut)
If a keyboard short cut was added to channel 5, then I wouldn't have to double up my radio channels and I could use the other channel for 200 or perhaps another Mission Channel when I'm off my squad's mission channel.
Option #2
Allow us to chose which channel is the 'voice' channel. For instance, lets say we put our groups mission channel in slot 1. This is probably the people we want to use Voice with, so we select Channel 1 as the voice channel. We now have channel 5 to be used elsewhere and are using the simplest keyboard shortcut (/) to typechat to the same people we are VOX-ing with.
I'm sure the code is not trivial in #2, but I would hope the code for #1 is fairly trivial. I just noticed this stuff in FSO and on my squad channel the other night.
