Mic Dosnt work now?!?!

Well before the system crash my mic worked, now after the system crash, mic dosnt work...... I tuned to myslef and when i hit my bind, I hear the beep, but not a single nosie after that. I mean if i dont have to buy a new mic that would be great. Also i have restarted computer, but after that i dont know what else to do. S.O.S! :(

Make sure you haven't accidentally engaged "mute" for mike input.  Did that once, myself.  Very frustrating. 

Navigate to: Control Panel... Sounds and Audio Devices... Voice (tab)... Volume (button)

Should look something like this:

Yuo might just need to recalibrate the mike in control panal.  Mine flaked out last week and that's all it took to fix it.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

If its USB then simply taking it out and putting it back in would work wonders. better yet try a new USB input.

Check your headphones. Some, like mine, have a separate switch to turn off transmit. You might have turned that off.

95% of Mic problems are very simple to fix.

Be careful with the volume control! If you're in the Playback section, unmuting the mic there means that it will play through your speakers...and give some seriously nasty feedback in most cases.
Most of the time there's a way to switch to the Recording section, generally in Options>Properties and using the radio bubbles.
