...an in game supply delivery system.  Thats really the only thing that left once the navy is added.

I think a simple trickle down system would be nice.  Factorys build it, and from there the supplies go down the line to bases.  Have alot of cities in the rear, adjacent to each other so they look like one capitol city, and some smaller cities spread around so no one city is always the target.  Get rid of the "if the city is gone, base structures rebuild slower" rule and have everything rebuild in 10 minutes.  Instead just go with the attrition of supplies.

You could cut off a specific base from the supply system.

This would mean that you couldn't capture a single base deep inside the enemy's land, but I don't see that happening much anyways.  I doubt anybody would notice they lost that.

Just an idea.  Even then it probably will be a while if at all to see any changes to the strategy system.

Do you think changing the strategy system are needed?

Hans.

I'd love to see roads that vehicles could travel faster on, but would be easier to spot while on em.

Aside from that I'm game for anything that can be blown up.

Roads, and railways maybe the only ways to get perk vehicles (Panthers etc) anywhere quickly, or maybe even home after a failed capture attempt.

Btw Fuel for vehicles would be nice...
or at least fuel usage

I would like to see a rail system with bridges and such, and if your rail systems gets wacked or a bridge to it gets bombed your base will slowly run out of ammo/fuel until engineers are paradropped at the bridge to fix it, also at the harbors ya could have liberty ships to go from island to island, and of course a few cruisers to escort them, that would be cool, give ya a chance to go after a enemy's assets insted of just head to head furball crap that doesnt accomplish anything.....besides....straf ing a trian...YUMMMMMM

Very good ideas!

Check lots of the old WW2 flicks, what did we bomb?  Railways, factories, roads, tracks....all means for supplies and armor to get to a destination.

Plus, it would beat rolling through the countryside for hours to get to a base.  It would also require more thinking/planning for the ground vehicles if they were going to try to drive a convoy.  They'd need to cooperate with Osties and M16s, as well as some air cover to get from point A to B.

Great idea.

Vehicles presently travel at max road speed on the present terrain, without overheating and engine stress problems usually encountered during such operations.

yes, actually, let us scrap all that damn'd fighters out the game and concentrate on who'll build a nicer infrastructure. Kind of massive multi-player simcity ;-)

guys, get real, when I log in I'm happy to see 80 guys on, I want them up there in planes waiting to die, not 50 of them wussy-engineering bridges and painting lane stripes on roads, I can have that everyday in my real life ;-)

My post had nothing to do with the army.

It was about in game supply colums from town to base.

Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than feeding an Osty (or Panzer) a fresh 1000 pounder

I really find the air-to-ground attacks very challenging.  Some Osty drivers can really lay down some intense fire.  I prefer the P38's 2 1000s and 10 rocket abilities for the groudn attack roll, despite the very limited visiblity in the cockpit.

But the supply routes/roads and such are good ideas.
