Hitler in England
« on: June 10, 2009, 03:54:32 AM »
Hitler in England. Yes, he did go there. Stumbled across this yesterday:

And on the lighter (Pythonic) side :

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Not on this forum :D

Anyway, seems like it sort of got buried, so it was a pleasure to stumble across it.
Does explain some facts of Hitler, who sort of admired the British. He had a good friend from England after WW1 and always considered the English to fit in his "Aerian" world.
That changed quite well in 1940.

love the monty python sketch. :)
"Willy's gone and made another,
Something like it's elder brother-
Wing tips rounded, spinner's bigger.
Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."
