I think they need to move into Cheyenne Mountain!

That way even a H-bomb wouldn't disrupt service.
Plus the con would be a lot closer!  :)

We still have no power at the office and our phone system is still down.  It was quite a storm.  I haven't seen sustained winds that strong outside of an actual hurricane.  I got caught on the road when it hit and it looked like a scene out of the movie Twister.

I'd always thought you guys in Dallas would get those with some frequency.   I know up here in Tulsa we're lousy with them this time of year.  Some weeks in spring or early summer we might have 3 in a week like that, and maybe one tornado warning a week also, not to mention the hail and high winds.  Even the weather people on the news quit getting all panicy about them after a while.

I always assumed that Dallas had really similar weather and had just adjusted to the severe thunderstorm like we have.  I never spent any amount of real time there, so I never really knew for sure.  It has just always been my assumption that Dallas gets very similar weather to us.  I figured you guys would be used to it by now.

Have I been wrong in my assumption all these years?

Yup. The DFW Metroplex has what we locals like to call "The Bubble" which 99% of the time "deflects" all rain/storms away from DFW. Dallas during summer is as close as you can get to Hell IMO.

well keep your heads down and enjoy family time round a candle talking...
I love it when we have power outs...
modern life ceases for awhile and proper time kicks in,
the old war spirit comes out and everyone helps each other and its kinda fun
<S> stay safe and happy
