Idea for a perk tank
« on: April 26, 2001, 12:30:00 PM »
Ok the evilness has come out.  I was thinking well my favorite tank of all time is the Sturmmorser or SturmTiger.  Now this is a tank, I would put out vehicle perk points for this baby.  Be able to take out both FH at a base with one hit, only drawback was limited ammo.  I have all the specs if anyone might want to make it.  I created this tank in our mod Western Front for Close Combat III.

I think it was rip that posted a thread about vehicle perks not being worth anything.

I would like to say, yes!, anything new in the Vehicle department would be a great breath of fresh air! Might as well make it REAL NASTY and make it a perk.

I think one thing that players might consider is that V's prolly take longer than fighters to construct.

I just want a big ugly nasty bad mother of a tank to spend perkies on.

BTW, i like that beast up top

LAVA,

FYI, During WW2 Vehicles (such as the Sherman) spent less than 4 days on the assembly line before being tested and accepted.  The average bomber, like the B-17 spent about 40 days in progress from beginning to end.  It is often misquoted that they were completed in an hour, the truth to that statement was that one rolled out every hour.  A typical fighter spent a bit longer on the assembly line at roughly 60 days, with the longest in the US inventory being the Corsair that took 90 - 120 days to complete.

Ahhh, didnt know that bodhi, thanks for the info.

I was talking about construction in terms of HTC building tanks, maybe they could throw a sherman together in 4 days

I'm certainly no game programer/coder/graphics guy, but i believe it must take longer to design and model twins<bombers> and vehicles than say a single engine fighter.

With that in mind, maybe HTC is concentrating on getting more fighters out of the production line and in to combat.  After all, Aces is a flight sim second to none.

They<HTC> have their hands full for sure, just would like one new tank/arty type vehicle to celebrate the new armor model.

want want want..i sound like a kid in a candy store...

Cheers,

LaVa

I dont think Sturmtiger should be top of the list when modeling new vehicles.

We need something fast with decent punch first. M24 Chaffee or Cromwell would be nice to have for example.

I like tronski's thinking

These tanks M24 Chaffee or Cromwell are not worth adding, would be like adding a M16 with a tad more armor    If were gonna add a perk tank make it worthwhile I do not think a M24 Chaffee or Cromwell would constitute perking which is what this thread started out as.

Well, neither are any of Tronski's proposals.

Any reason why you are just trying to make me mad?  Because I said I liked tronskis thinking?  Or because I bashed you when you tried to put ideas in a thread that was not speaking of non perk tanks?

Well sturm...another concept like the C-hog...2 tanks were used in some Panzer Regiment, cast out in the suburbs of some Polish 10000 pop city, as a trial, and it would be the No 1 used tank in MA

Thats realism for yas...we shurely need some kind of availablity control feature...

A few more were used then 2    Granted production was a dismal few, it really amazes me at how angry or the quick bashing people will do when you offer ideas.
