I meant to get some pictures to go with this, but as I haven't even unpacked the camera from my backbag yet, I'll just post the brief details and will add the pics later...
I was visiting Iceland with my wife. We stayed in Reykjavik for most of the trip, but we rented a car for a day to see the most known sights (Thingvellir with the continental drift between the North American and Eurasian Plates, then Geysir and Gullfoss) and also to visit Angus from here, the bbs.
Iceland: a very rough, but beautiful country. The contrasts - black "lava mountains" with green valleys and beautiful waterfalls make it a unique experience. I definitely recommend Iceland to anyone that hasn't been there.
Pros:
+ Everyone (or at least almost everyone) speaks English
+ Scenery, truly quieting when you see waterfalls, hot springs, mountains and green meadows at once
+ The most visited places are truly unique
+ Good food, expect to have fish dishes and lamb, also whale meat is GOOD!

+ Reasonable prices these days, I don't know what everything must have cost before the economical collapse - now the foods etc. were about the same as in Finland
+ In Reykjavik you get functional bus traffic, admittance to museums and hot baths for the price of a Reykjavik Welcome Card
And the biggest plus for me as an AH-addict was meeting Angus. Definitely a fun chap, very talkative, I didn't even notice that we spend over 5 hours at his place. <S> mate, and tell your family thank you and greetings from the Finns Riku and Mia for having us for dinner!

Cons:
- It's a windy place, although we were prepared for that so it wasn't that bad, just wear something windproof
- The stores only sell 2,25% vol alcohol, if you want something stronger (like regular beer) you have to visit the Vinbudin (Liqueur Store) or spend the night at a pub/bar/club
- The wife didn't enjoy the shopping at Reykjavik, as everything was about the same price as in Finland and it didn't offer anything unique...
Give me a week or two, I should get the photos posted soon...

But if you haven't been to Iceland yet, it's a good place to visit.
