it can maneuver but the spit 5 maneuvers better.

since the zero is betting all its cards on maneuverability anyways it would be great to see an a6m3 model 22 in the set for "the ultimate turn and burn machine"
Fester was my in game name until September 2013

Huh? an Oscar? for what?

Peeshooters, slow, slow climber and made of paper!...

Citabria is right A6M5 is a nice adition in AH ( and its really fun to fight against them!). I did think that it outturned a spitV but as I have flown it few times I dont know it well.

I support A6M2...M3 had clipped wings so it turned worse than M2.

First few minutes of 1.03 i flew the zeke and belive me it can easily outturn the spit V. Only problem is the vertical.

I was only talking about turn & burn. I can't think of anything better than Oscar for that (apart, of course, the Fieseler-Storch   ). Firepower not so important, IMHO. But I'm not so warbirds-literate, maybe I´m wrong.

Cheers,

Pepino

Ki-27 or A5M or PZL P11c would eat Zeke or Oscar for breakfast in a turn fight.

I often fly Zeke and can assure you it DOES outturn Spit 5.However a patient Spit 5 driver will do low-g high yo-yos against it to bleed the Zeke -E level until he cant pull pure vert. Then of course ,the Spit rolls down for the kill. However thats assuming co-e entrance into the fight.Zeke with E adv(speed OR alt)is a BIG problem for any AC type.Ask Ghosth!Hes probably the premier Zeker amongst us...or EADG

Hmmm...Biplanes?!! Would be interesting to see the Gloster Gladiator vs the (not sure what it was called, but was the Japanese biplane fighter used in Burma/China) If I recall correctly,Sakai had his first combats in this type.Anyone recall this type?Funked?
And I believe these two AC actually did meet historically in Indo-china ,Hong-kong etc.

Actually I would LOVE it if AH would model the A5m Claude.  Man that open cockpit was MADE for turning! Would be a great addition to any 1939 planeset.

As to chewing up spits in a zeke, that depends on where your flying. H2H I got most of my kills in the first guns hot merge. It was MUCH safer that way.

Arena was & is a lot tougher. Come to the fight high, pull as few G's as you can and still keep that rear quarter aspect.

Wait till he goes high and milk all of your E for that full planform shot just before he pitches nose down. Then aim well while your fighting with rudder & aileron to hold steady and do NOT miss! A Zeke will not horde E as well as the spit, but the smart driver will always have a bit more than the other guy expects
